Key Personnel
John Gilliland established Investment Real Estate in 1998. He established the management side of the firm in 2000, after hearing of this need from investors who had purchased self storage facilities. A native of Pennsylvania, he received his degree from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, CA. After many years in the California commercial investment real estate market as a top producer, he returned to his home state to manage brokerage teams for Bennett Williams and High Industries of Lancaster, PA. Realizing the great need for a specialist in the growing self storage industry, he established Investment Real Estate, LLC, in 1998 to specialize solely in the brokerage of self storage facilities in the Mid-Atlantic States and Northeastern United States. John has earned the respect of his colleagues. He was elected President of the Pennsylvania Self Storage Association in 2001 and served for five years. In 2003 he was elected to the Board of Directors of the national Self Storage Association and re-elected for another term in 2006. In 2007 he was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors. He has been and is a speaker at numerous self storage conventions and conferences, writes articles for self storage publications, and provides expert testimony on behalf of his clients.
Joe is responsible for directing and coordinating the overall financial planning, budgeting and forecasting, as well as the execution of strategic goals for the Investment Real Estate Group of Companies. He oversees the Accounting & Finance staff, Human Resources function, as well as providing leadership in the IT area for the Group of Companies. Joining the firm in 2009, Joe previously worked as Controller/Vice President of Finance for Tell Manufacturing, Inc., a distributor/manufacturer of commercial doors with five facilities throughout the US. Joe also had various financial leadership roles in former firms, such as The Key Automotive Group, Telmar Network Technology, Turbon International and BDO Seidman, LLP. Braun graduated as an Accounting major with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from LaSalle University, Philadelphia, and earned a Master of Business Administration from York College of Pennsylvania.
Alyssa joined Investment Real Estate Management in 2008 to oversee strategic and operational leadership of the self storage property management business. Previously, Quill served as Vice President of Operations for Extra Space Storage, a storage REIT with over 650 facilities in the United States and oversaw operations of 90 stores in the southeast in GA, SC, AL and FL. Before her role in operations, she held positions in the revenue management and finance departments for Extra Space and Storage USA. Prior to her years at Extra Space, she worked in the insurance industry. Quill earned her B.S. degree in Actuarial Science from Penn State University, University Park, PA with additional coursework towards her MBA degree at the University of Memphis.
As a District Manager for Investment Real Estate Management, Mike Blouch oversees the daily operations of an assigned number of properties within the management portfolio in the Pennsylvania area. His responsibilities include the overall property performance of the sites. With over fifteen years of experience in the sales and leasing of commercial, industrial and investment real estate, Mike specializes in property management. Mike's background includes a B.S. degree in Finance from Clarion University.
As a District Manager for Investment Real Estate Management, Paul Reickart oversees the daily operations of an assigned number of properties within the Pennsylvania area of the management portfolio. His responsibilities include the overall property performance of the sites. Previous to joining IREM, Paul had over 10 years in banking, retail management and customer service fields overseeing multi-site locations. His background includes a degree in Communications from Penn State University.
As a District Manager for Investment Real Estate Management, Kevin Bledsoe oversees the daily operations of an assigned number of properties within the Virginia, West Virginia and Maryland areas of the management portfolio. His responsibilities include the overall property performance of the sites. Prior to employment with IREM, Kevin worked in the self storage industry as a District Manager with All Seasons Storage and Simply Self Storage. Prior employment includes advertising and marketing research for firms in Lancaseter and York, PA. Kevin holds a B.S. degree in Business Marketing from Bloomsburg University
As a District Manager for Investment Real Estate Management, Jason Kolivoski oversees the daily operations of an assigned number of properties within the management portfolio. His responsibilities include the overall property performance of the sites. Prior to this position, Kolivoski was a Brokerage Advisor in the Brokerage division for Investment Real Estate from 2007-2009. He worked previous to this for Simply Self Storage and All Seasons Trust, managing self storage properties in four states. Kolivoski is a graduate of Penn State University with a degree in Business Management and Economics.
As an Area Manager for Investment Real Estate Management, Sean Barron oversees the daily operations of an assigned number of properties within the management portfolio which includes the overall property performance of the sites. He is also the Trainer for Property Managers and Relief Managers, as well as handling training consultanting for the company. Prior to his new position, Sean had been a manager with Investment Real Estate Management in PA for several years. In 2008, he was named IREMs Manager of the Year. Before joining IREM, Sean had extensive management and trainer experience in the restaurant industry.
Joyce processes and records the daily financial information for the growing number of facilities managed by Investment Real Estate Management. This includes daily cash receipts, accounts payable, month-end and year-end financial reports and sales tax reporting. Joyce attended York College and has over 25 years of diverse experience in accounting with progressive responsibilities working as an associate accountant for over seventeen years for Honeywell, a senior accountant with HealthCentral and Dulaney Station, and an accounting manager for Oakworks.
Debi is responsible for managing the daily processing of facility revenue, bank deposits, accounts payable, sales tax reports, monthly and yearly financial budgets and reports for an assigned number of properties. Deller attended York College and has over twenty years of accounting and administrative experience in the food manufacturing and retail building supply industry.
Purcell is responsible for direction of marketing and sales functions for the managed facilities, including the development and execution of marketing plans, yellow page management, press releases, advertising, seminars, public relations, electronic and print mailing campaigns, and special event management. Purcell’s current projects include campaign management, such as the “Self Storage is Sexy” campaign, creative direction of national advertising for the Group of Companies and the management and re-design of the corporate and managed facility websites. Previous experience includes marketing and sales for firms in Tucson, AZ and Harrisburg, PA. Julie has a B.A. degree in English Literature from Franciscan University, Steubenville, OH.
