1. Run a campaign. These are themes based around the time of year or a certain theme. This could be
along the lines of having a “Messiest Dorm Room Competition” at your local college. Winner gets a free unit (and a referral fee for sending other students your way). Or look into supporting a local sports team. Promote this with some yard signs outside your facility advertising a free ticket Friday. Give out some free tickets and get people in your door to see your facility.

2. Spice up your materials. Nobody likes always handing out the same brochures. Spice it up with an
inexpensive coupon promoting a limited time special. Hand this out to local businesses along with a few
small treats.

3. Find some friends. Get together with a few other local businesses. Brainstorm on what you can do
together to help each other and promote your businesses. An event or ad may be too expensive to run on
your own, but partner in some friends and it might be do-able, and very worthwhile!

4. Get viral. Think about creating a fun YouTube video promoting your site. It doesn’t have to be perfect,
just creative. Have someone dress up in a mascot costume and do cartwheels down your unit rows. People
love these videos, and they will “spread” like wildfire.

5. Stand out. Do you have the normal run of the mill yard signs and banners that just says the special you
are offering? Do something different, like “Ladies we don’t mind how many shoes you have, store them here”,
or “Your car called, it wants its garage back.” Think memorable.
